One of the delights of having hand-crafted furniture is that you can have exactly the piece you want- the right size, the right wood, the right finish. You can specify exactly what you want to meet your needs.
Here are a few of the custom-made, one-of-a-kind pieces that I have made for discriminating clients who knew (and received) exactly what they wanted.
Stickley-inspired bookshelf
This Stickley-inspired bookshelf is created in solid quarter sawn white oak. Dimensions: 13”D x 60”W x 54” H

Stickley-inspired Sideboard
The massive sideboard shown below is the culmination of 2 years of design collaboration with my client in Toronto. It is constructed of solid quarter sawn white oak, much of it milled to 6/4, with nothing less than a full 4/4 in thickness. It features through tenons and an inlay of Cape Breton marble selected by the client at the quarry. The sideboard features six drawers with solid antique brass hardware and Blumotion slides, and two cupboards with bookmatched panels and raised butterflies. The unit has a caster system to facilitate moving.
Measurements: 23”D x 44”H x 60”W
Weight: approx. 400 lbs

The words “thank you” seem so inadequate. We are grateful for the efforts that you both have put into the three pieces of furniture which now sit in our home. They actually abide on two quite different levels. The obvious is the physical one. How in thunderation can you miss them, especially the buffet. But on a quite different plane they represent the labour and love that has gone into creating them and getting them here. That is utterly intangible...there is no price that can explain the emotional and physical effort that you both invested in them.
When we look at them, we see pieces of furniture but we also see two caring people whose skills and efforts created them. It is that which we care about most. ~ Muriel & Ron, Toronto
